Our ongoing classes are low-impact and accommodate all levels of fitness/sizes. Monthly themes and choreography are adjusted to meet the students’ abilities. Women 18yr+.

What to expect at our
"Learn to Bellydance" classes...
Arani Bellydance classes are a fun, eclectic
mix of middle-eastern dance styles. Our
classes are geared towards beginner to
early-intermediate dancers.
We strive to personalize each class so that
every student, regardless of natural talent,
gets enough individual attention to leave
with a basic understanding of their new
skills before going home to practice for the
week.
Our class format: a conditioning warm-up
to improve core strength and flexibility,
"drills" that focus on core movements,
basic combinations, choreography, and a
cool down, if needed.
From the first class, students begin
learning terminology relevant to
bellydance. In a few weeks, students will
start to notice their bodies and brain "sync
up" more easily and the movements
become more familiar.
Music will vary throughout, depending on
what is appropriate for the skills being
learned that month. Sometimes we may
also use untraditional music to show
students how they can apply their new
dance knowledge in other recreational
dance settings.
What skills do I need?
Bellydance is for ladies of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels. Your curves are the perfect
accessory. In fact, a little extra "you" just means bigger, more beautiful shimmies!
If you are healthy enough to participate in general exercise then you should do fine in our classes.
Bellydance is fairly low impact so it is gentle to the body. With regular practice, you’ll discover your
posture improves and low back pain may even disappear as your core muscle become stronger. Just
remember to listen to YOUR body and respect its limitations as it adjusts to unfamiliar movements.
Our teaching style is challenging but relaxed. We want students to have a good time while they are
learning! With two instructors, you always have someone to assist you, while advancing at your own
pace. Bellydance is about personal expression, so we teach you proper form while you learn to add
your own style. This is your journey, so be sure to make it fun!
